Curt Fonger

Curt also produces and anchors the News 12 Nowcast which airs weekdays on news12now.com and on Digital Channel 12.2. Curt joined WPEC in 1989 as weekend anchor and reporter, covering health issues and the Treasure Coast. Curt has also anchored CBS 12's 5:00 PM newscast and, for ten years, the FOX29 Ten o'clock News produced by News 12 for WFLX Fox29. Curt has also anchored at WTVX Channel 34 in Fort Pierce and WKRG-TV in Mobile, Alabama. He was News Director at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was born in Grand Rapids and reared in nearby Lowell. Curt graduated from the Honors College of Western Michigan University, Magna Cum Laude, in Communications. He was named a Sangren Scholar. Curt has won awards for news leadership and for reporting. He has reported from Honduras, the Peoples Republic of China, Japan and South Korea. A long-time Treasure Coast resident, Curt now resides in Palm Beach County with his wife. An avid golfer, Curt is proud that the Curt Fonger Invitational golf tournament has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the Boys and Girls Club of St. Lucie County. He is a lifetime member of the Arthur R. Marshall Foundation and a board member of the Suncoast Community High School Foundation. Curt is involved with many charities including Pathways To Independence and Food For The Poor.
