Mirochip for Humans
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Micro-chipping of humans is under fire in West Palm Beach. Protesters gathered at Alzheimer's Community Care where plans are underway to implant microchips under the skin of 200 Alzheimer's patients. The Verichips could help locate patients who wander away. This is much like the ones used to identify missing pets. The human study will last 2 years. Demonstrators, including Dr. Katherine Albrecht with Antichips, are opposed, claiming these patients are vulnerable because they don't have the ability to consent to the procedure. Dr. Albrecht says, "I don't think the answer to Alzheimer patient issues is by implanting a micro-chip in their flesh. There are already technologies that can resolve these issues."
Doctor Albrecht points to a bracelet that a patient can wear that can also help identify them.
